One of the last 600cc R60’s built this lovely original bike was recently imported from South Africa where it had been used regularly by the previous owner on many rallies and tours. Registered with the S.A veteran & vintage association it is a matching number machine and comes with a copy of their dating certificate. With all taxes paid and now registered in the UK with an MoT until November 2014 the bike has a UK V5C logbook, copy of the factory handbook and some bills / invoices for work completed. It has just had a service and new battery fitted and is great running order.
Generally in good condition the bike remains largely original, the frame paint is good with no signs or rust and the body work is nice, the tank has no dents, the chrome rims and spokes in good condition. Some twenty thousand of these bikes were built between 1956 and 1969 their survival is a testament to the build quality and rugged construction, however they are very civilized to ride, the virtually indestructible boxer engine is known to go on for ever with little or no maintenance, today they are highly collectable classic this bike is a nice example to ride or restore.
