Factory records show this SS80 De Luxe model (plunger frame) was dispatched from the works to F E Thacker & Co. Ltd and sold to a Mr J Hornblower of Walsall Staffs, being registered 31st Dec. 1938. Brough club records show the bike belonging to a member in the late 1960’s in Worcester before being sold in 1972 to another club member in Sweden, Arne Hermanson. Further records from 1984 show it was then fitted with a sidecar, and restored in the late 1990‘s. It was then featured in Peter Miller’s book ‘Brough Superior, The Complete Story’ which was published in 2010. A matching frame, engine and gearbox number bike it still retains many of its original components and remains in absolutely excellent all round condition.
Having been owned by another Brough club member in Sweden for the last few years the bike is now offered for sale in the UK without the sidecar. It is supplied with a copy of the factory record card and copies of the restoration work undertaken by Mr Hermanson. There is also a continuation buff logbook from 1970 and correspondence from the BS club. A beautifully presented example in very good mechanical order the bike has been well maintained and is ready to go.
