In 1982 the iconic Ducati 900 SS was replaced by the restyled 900 S2. Only 1,236 examples were built before production ceased in 1984 as the new Pantah engined models were already in production. The S2 shared the same 90° V twin bevel engine but with the addition of an electric start, and a slightly modified frame to accommodate it. Still a very capable motorcycle it never quite captured the imagination of the public resulting in poor sales, today however original examples are collectable.
This early production S2 is the best of both worlds, restyled to resemble a silver frame ’75 900SS it has all the looks and styling of the earlier bike but with the later electric start engine. A very presentable bike it is in excellent all round condition and in great working order. Imported from Italy in 2014 prior to the work being done it was re registered in the UK and has a current UK V5C logbook. It has had a recent oil change and new battery fitted and is supplied with an MoT until June 2018. If you always dreamed of owning a Ducati bevel but were concerned about starting it this is the perfect bike, without the current price tag of most 900 Super Sports. SOLD.
