This matching number 900SS was supplied new by Shirlaws Motorcycles of Aberdeen, Scotland 1st Aug. 1980. The famous bevel drive Super Sport was nearing the end of production in 1980 to make way for the new Pantah engined models so this example is a late production model, finished in the traditional colour scheme of black and gold. The first owner sold the bike not long after purchase as he found it a handful, selling it to the last owner’s brother in law before eventually coming to the last owner, so a three owner from new bike. It was reregistered in Germany when he moved there and had an engine rebuild by RN-MotorTechnik of Reutlingen which was completed in 2014.
The current milage of 36,900 appears correct as we have old MoT’s that go from new to 1997 when the bike was showing 33,792. The frame has also been powder-coated and the body work repainted. In very good running order and generally very fine cosmetic condition this is a well maintained example that is supplied with a good history file including the original Ducati service log, it will come with its original registration number of LRS 431W and a UK MoT til Aug. 2018.
