This fantastic XRTT replica was built in 2011 using a 2001 model Harley 1200cc Sportster Sport as the donor. The ‘Sport’ model already had adjustable front suspension with compression and rebound damping and ‘single fire’ ignition as standard so it seamed fitting to base this as homage to this legendary Harley race bike which also has a 42mm Mikuni flat side carburetor and SuperTrapp exhaust. The body work consists of a correct type ‘bullnose’ fiberglass fairing, with a one off hand made aluminum fuel tank that also houses the oil, both have ‘Monza’ caps. The seat unit is also alloy as is the swinging arm and the wheel rims. The rear suspension has Koni shocks, the front has a WP steering damper and Grimeca brake calipers all round. The build quality of this bike is second to none, the paintwork is particularly good finished in traditional Harley race colours. This totally unique bike has all the looks of the original 750cc XRTT but with the advantage of a modern build, it sounds great and goes as good as it looks and remains in absolutely beautiful condition. It was featured in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics in Nov 2011 and comes with a copy of the article, service book, old MoTs and the UK V5C logbook.
