  • DESCRIPTION

This absolutely stunning and detailed car is built entirely from SS Jaguar parts, it has a 2½ litre chassis and features a 3½ litre engine, the only period mechanical deviation is the fitment of a modern five speed gearbox. The body made entirely from aluminum around a wood frame is to SS100 design and is not only beautifully made is very accurate. The car has a massive history file that dates back to 1983 and had been with the previous owner for some 20 years. During this time the car had a comprehensive rebuild in 1995 which included an engine rebuild and overhaul of virtually every moving part. Since then it was maintained to a high standard with almost no expense spared. In addition to this the owner , a surveyor by trade, kept a detailed journal of every journey he took in the car and of all the running repairs. This fascinating record details how the car ran and is full of tuning and tweaking tips as well as hand drawn diagrams and notes.

The car has received recent extensive refurbishment in our own workshop, a full check over and service of the mechanical and electrical system has been carried out, repair and repaint of the hood frame and the fitting of a new tailor made soft top and tonneau as well as all five wire wheels repaired and repainted. The original interior has been retained, the carpets and leather seats remain in good general order and the body work paint is also in  good overall condition.

Having been road tested to this years Goodwood revival the car performs faultlessly, the engine is strong, good oil pressure and no overheating ( it is fitted with a extra electric fan ) the five speed gearbox a sensible addition. It is supplied with two volumes of technical data and work shop manuals that also contain many hand written notes and diagrams, old MoT’s, copies of old logbooks as well as the current V5C that states the model as a 1948 Jaguar ‘Sports’.
