Manufactured 6th April 1955 this matching number original right hand drive Drophead Coupe was delivered to its first owner in Warwickshire and registered soon after. The original buff log logbook that is with the car shows that it still retains its original registration number of VUE 502.
The car has MoT’s that go back to 1981 that state it only had 23,545 miles showing when it passed to West London resident who entrusted it to Jaguar specialists Southern Classics for restoration work which included bodywork and a cylinder head overhaul. From that time the car was used very little as it is still only showing 25,113. The history file also contains many bills and receipts for continued maintenance including more recently over £10,000 worth of work from XK specialists Twyford Moors.
Finished in Pacific Blue with a light blue interior the car remains in excellent mechanical order, with the interior and trim still in good condition, and the soft top nearly new. The body also remains in good order, a few minor marks but corrosion free and quite presentable.
It is supplied with a current MoT until August 2017, and a copy of a JDHT certificate. Overall this is a fine very correct example with what appears to be a very low milage car with an excellent maintenance record. The production of the XK 140 was relatively short lived from 1954 to 1957 with only 479 right hand DHC produced, making VUE 502 the 80th car off the production line. SOLD.
