First registered in the UK September 1966 this Mk1 Lotus Cortina was converted to race car specification and campaigned in the Inter European Championship during the 1990’s and the Italian hill climb championship in 2008. It was assigned FIA papers in 2007 and 20011 and has two sets of Auto Club Italia technical passports.
Still registered in the UK as SNK 659D the original traditional colour scheme of white and green has been changed to red / silver and it currently sits on a set of 13” Mini Lite wheels with two spares. The current correct type engine is recorded as 1592cc with a reputed 165 bhp, the diff ratio is 33/7 with a standard fitment gearbox.
In good running order the car is in good structural condition with a fair cometic condition as you expect from a competition car of this kind and it is supplied with a small history file contacting copies of the FIA / ACI papers. A generally sound car with lots of potential it represents good value and an inexpensive but competitive entry into historic racing and classic rallying.
