This matching number 1963 6T Thunderbird was restored in 1998 by Leigh Classic motorcycles and altered to resemble a Triumph Trophy. By ’63 the unit construction 650cc bikes were virtually the same with the exception of the Thunderbirds Nacelle style headlamp and enveloping side panels, more of a ‘street’ model as opposed to the Trophy that had always been an ‘off road’ style bike that had gained much success in competition since the late 1950’s. Finished in the 1965 colour scheme of ‘Alaskan White and Gold this bike had laid virtually unused since 2005 but has survived remarkably un corroded as it was garaged in a good dry environment.
It has recently had a complete check over and service in our workshop and a new battery and exhaust pipes fitted.
In great running order it appears to have only coved about 700 miles since it was restored and is in generally very nice order throughout.
