Dispatched from the works July 23rd 1958 to a dealer in Chester this Thunderbird was then registered 659 HFM on the 22nd August ’58. This number it still retains. Restoration invoices from c.1999 to 2000 show the bike as having a major overhaul which included an engine rebuild. An old MoT from 2000 shows that the clock must have been re set as it showed just 10 miles, in 2001 another MoT shows it at 353 miles and now it is only showing 400 miles. Having been in storage for some time the bike has recently been returned to the road and is in fine running order, the paint work although aged is still in good condition, the fuel tank has a couple of small marks but the frame, forks and side panels are all unmarked. The wheels and spokes are all very good and generally this is a very presentable, nicely aged example. It is matching number bike and comes with a VMCC dating certificate, history file and current UK V5C logbook, a new MoT can be supplied but is no longer required for pre 1960 vehicles.
