  • DESCRIPTION

Triumph’s immense success in off road racing in the USA promoted the production of two very iconic and specially adapted bikes aimed just at the professional and amateur American dirt bike racer. These bikes were built specifically at the request of Johnson Motors of Pasadena, California, the T120 C Bonneville or TT Special as it was better known and the more widely used TR6C Trophy ‘Competition’. Both bikes featured a factory tuned engine and were weight saving.

This example left the factory on 14th July 1966 and was sent to TriCor, the East Coast Triumph Motorcycle distributor in the USA. Having been comprehensively restored in the USA in the correct colours of Pacific blue and white, this matching number bike was returned to the UK in March 2015 and formed part of a prestigious motorcycle collection.

It was further inspected and serviced in 2016 at which time the engineers confirmed that the engine and gearbox had been blueprinted and fitted new bearings and bushings throughout.

As it has only covered test milage it has been further inspected in our own workshop and remains in absolutely fantastic condition both mechanically and cosmetically. This is a superb opportunity to acquire one of the most truly iconic motorcycles of the 1960’s that is effectively ‘brand new’. This is not a replica but the real deal ; so cool its practically frozen !
