This fine 500cc Venom has been upgraded to Thurxton specification by two previous owners over the last few years. The engine has been rebuilt with all new bearings and bushes, together with valve guides and springs. The gearbox has been stripped and rebuilt with new bearings and two new gears. The forks have also been rebuilt and the steering head fitted with taper roller bearings and all the wheel bearings were replaced and new bushes fitted to the swinging arm.
Subsequently a new KTT Services Thruxton-type cylinder head with coil valve springs has been fitted together with a complete new KTT Services clutch and belt drive conversion. Running through a new Mikuni carb the bike has a new BTH 12 Volt self-generating magneto and an Alton alternator and electric starter kit that makes these rather challenging high compression bikes easy to start.
Further enhancements to the Thruxton specification include a Thruxton type petrol and oil tanks and seat.
Presented in very good overall condition the bike runs and sounds great, the ‘electric’ leg is a real asset. It has been well maintained and has a good history file detailing the expensive upgrades. Given the value of a genuine Thurxton in the current market this is a very sporting bike a price. SOLD.
