Registered 8th April 1954 in Cardiff as JKG 8 this matching number Series C Rapide appears to have had just 5 owners in total. Records show the bike was registered in Croydon south London in 1963 and later in Cornwall in 1969. It was sold to Vincent dealers Conway Motors in 1972 who subsequently passed it to a Lancs. resident who kept it for some 35 years. During this time it was restored by Steve Tonkin restorations ( Lancs. ) in 1999 and comes with a bill for £6,366 for this work.
Having been part of a small private collection since 2007 it appears not to have used very much but was continued to be maintained by Saddleworth Classics. It remains in excellent all round cosmetic condition and is in fine running order having had a full service and tune up in our own workshop. It is supplied with a buff log book dated back to 1963, a small history file of papers, a VOC dating certificate and a UK V5 logbook. Fitted with a Black Shadow style Smiths 5” Speedo and later type Amal monobloc carbs this is a very fine example that retains its original registration number.
