This MkIII Interceptor was recently re commissioned having been in storage for the last 10 years. It is running order with an MoT until Jan. 2015 however it will need further work to make it a reliable daily driver. The body work is basically sound but there is corrosion, this is mainly in the near side rear wing and bottom of both doors, the floors and boot floor are solid, although the paint is not micro blistered the general finish of the paint is poor.
The interior is original to the car and is showing signs of age having already been re colored. The car retains its original 7.2 litre engine that appears to be in good working order with no smoke or nasty noises, the gearbox also is in good working order. It is supplied with a Jensen Motors production certificate that states the date of manufacture as 24th Oct. 1973 the original color silver grey with magnolia ‘special’ trim. There are a number of bills and invoices for maintenance on the car and copies of factory work sheets as well as two old MoT’s showing the milage as 54,332 in 1989 and 54,502 in 1990. The current mileage is shown as 55,947.
A running driving project this car will require work however it is a sound basis for an easy restoration.
