Declared manufactured 12th December 1966 this 500cc R50 was imported to the UK in 2006 at which time it was showing 22,445 miles. Having had just one owner since import the bike underwent significant engine work between 2010 and 2011 at which time the clock was set to zero. The gearbox and top end of the engine were rebuilt and following this the owner made several trans European tours without a hitch.
Now Showing 4,861 miles the bike remains in good working order, its condition is largely original unrestored and so would benefit from some cosmetic restoration however it is a good solid example that has proved a reliable usable classic.
Still on its original 6volt electrics it is a testament to just how strong and enduring these boxer engined BMWs can be. It is supplied with number of old MoT’s that go back to the time of import, various service bills and receipts for work undertaken and the UK V5C logbook.
