The BSA Hornet was a stripped down purpose built off road and desert racer mainly built for the American market as demand for such bikes had grown during the 1960’s.
Supplied without head or taillights, ‘straight through’ exhaust pipes the A65 engine was upgraded with high compression pistons, a performance cam and twin carbs, it was in direct competition to Triumphs TRC Trophy and T120 TT Bonneville.
This fine example has recently had a comprehensive restoration by a BSA specialist and is still fitted with its original fibre glass fuel tank that has been lined, it has only covered a few test miles since and will need running in. In absolutely fantastic condition it is not current road registered but is supplied with a BSA dating certificate confirming the bike is matching numbers.
