  • DESCRIPTION

Built 24th January 1963 and registered 9th April ’63 this genuine Rocket Gold Star retains its original registration number 4609 R. Having resided in a private collection for the last 7 years this fabulous example was said to have been completely restored in 2011. Since then has been hardly used and is only showing 1,800 miles.

Suppled with an old buff logbook that shows it has only had 4 owners since 1972 it has just had a full check over and recommissioning in our workshop to return it to road use. A new battery and a service reveals that is it in top order and great running condition.

Genuine RGS’ hold high prices in the current market, mostly as only 1,584 bikes were build between 1962 and the end of 1963 when production gave way to the new unit construction BSA engine. They are also a sublime classic to ride, the high compression 650cc motor has loads of power, the proven Gold Star frame handles great and the 190mm full width front hub has adequate braking for what is a nice comfortable classic to ride. This is fine example.
