This amazing special was built by Alan Brown Engineering in the late 1990’s, it uses a 1955 BSA A7/A10 frame and a Yamaha SR500 engine to resemble a modern take on the BSA Gold Star. The single cylinder 500cc engine had been converted to right foot change and is running through an Amal R300 series carb with a GS Type exhaust silencer which sounds great. Many other genuine BSA parts are used, fuel tank, mudguards, oil tank, instruments and front forks, the bike is also fitted with a genuine Gold Star front brake, even the polished engine cases have the BSA logo etched in them. The end result is a very well built and handsome motorcycle that is in very good general order. The engine has a de-compressor fitted to make starting easy, it runs well with no smoke and plenty of power, and is a very comfortable mount. This is a really nice bike and would be perfect for a discernible rider wanting the looks and feel of a classic without the headache of older mechanics.
