Introduced in 1993 the 888 SPO or Sports production Omologato was built for the USA market as Ducati couldn’t get its race replica SP5 past the D.O.T requirements. A mixture of parts from the 851 and the European 888 Strada it had some top shelf SP5 components such as a single seat, up-swept exhaust system and upgraded Ohlins shock system as well as a carbon front mudguard.
This example was registered in the UK in 1995 and has had three owners since. Showing just 12,652 miles it remains in excellent condition throughout and is fitted with Termignoni carbon race exhaust cans.
It comes with a number of old MoTs that go back to 1997 when the milage was 7,832 as well as the factory handbooks and a number of service bills. In addition the bike will come with a fresh service, new cam belts and a new MoT. A very presentable and rare example this SPO is one of just 290 thought to have been built.
