The 916 SP was introduced in 1994 with a power increase from the standard 114bhp of the Strada model to 126bhp, the engine had many revisions making it stronger and more flexible, these engine developments came form Ducati’s extensive racing programme that saw Carl Fogarty win four World Championships from 1994 to 1998 on a 916 Superbike. Recognised as a style and design icon the ‘Sports Production’ 916’s are much sort after today some 25 years later.
This fine example from 1995 has only covered 3,931miles and remains in very fine order. A three owner from new bike it is supplied with the factory owners manual / service record and a number of old MoT’s that go back to 2000 when the milage was recorded at 1,621. It received a main dealer service in 2015 and has just had a full check before coming to us. Fitted with essential Termignoni carbon race cans the bike also has the ‘Cagiva’ era logo stamped on the fuel filler. A good condition example of what has been described as the most beautiful motorcycle ever built !
