  • DESCRIPTION

The concept of the MH900 evoluzione was drawn up by designer Pierre Terblanche in 1998 as a further homage to Mike Hailwood’s 1978 win of the Isle of Mann TT. Ducati had already produced a very successful ‘Mike Hailwood Replica’ based on the original 900 SS in 1979 that ran to 1985, this new bike was a way of introducing a very limited production special to a new generation.

Initial production was to be started in 2000 and out sourced to Bimota, however following their collapse the bikes were hand built in Bologna at the Ducati factory in 2001 to 2002. During this time just 2,000 bikes were produced, the sale of which was conducted solely by the factory in the form of internet only orders known as ‘Business to Consumer’ (B2C) . This was a first for any motorcycle manufacturer and proved phenomenally successful as the first 1000 bikes were sold out in 31 minutes !

Number 0966 / 2000 was produced in June 2001 and remains in ‘as new’ condition having never been registered or ridden on a public road. It has remained in a private collection since new and is supplied with the factory plaque, handbooks, both keys, paddock stand and cover as well as an unworn 0966 limited edition T Shirt.

A unique and true Ducati collectors item.
