This genuine manual gearbox V8 ( 289cui ) Fastback was manufactured at the Ford San Jose plant 9th Nov. ’65 and delivered new to Los Angles California originally finished in silver blue with a blue vinyl interior.
It was purchased in Boston in August 1996 in an original unrestored but complete state after which the then owner embarked on a 3 year comprehensive restoration at his home in Cleveland, which included an engine and gearbox rebuild and a complete body restoration with a repaint in Highland Green and a new black interior.
The record of this work needs to be seen to be appreciated. There is a large photo album of each stage and a complete video diary (VHS cassettes) of the restoration and two further files of invoices and historical data on this car. We have not seen such a comprehensive record for a restoration like this for many years.
Imported to the UK in 2020 the car has been part of a small collection, used sparingly and garaged all the time. Fitted with disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear it does not have power steering but is superb car to drive in excellent mechanical order and in great cosmetic condition.
This has to be one of the best early Mustangs currently on offer, great specification and with a truly amazing history file, viewing is recommended.
