The XLHCR was designed by the famous Willie G Davidson, grandson of one of the original founders, he joined the company and became head of styling in 1969. During his tenure his designs also included the FX Super Glide and FXS Low Rider as well the XLHCR, although these bikes never sold particularly well in period they have all become something of legend amongst Harley collectors and enthusiasts alike. Production of the Cafe Racer only ran for two years ’77-’79, this fine early example was imported from California to the UK in 2011 by its only British owner. Having been partially restored in the USA, further work was completed here making this a very well presented example. Showing 1430 miles the bike is in good working order and is supplied with both the factory owners handbooks, a service manual, parts catalogue, old MoTs and the current MoT until May 2016 along with the UK V5C.
