  • DESCRIPTION

Registered 8th March 1928 this high chassis 2 litre speed model was purchased by a previous owner as a project in 1949 having laid derelict on a farm in the Isle Of Wight, as an engineering graduate he proceeded to rebuild the car which stayed in his ownership for an amazing 67 years. As his age advanced the car was again laid up however his son entrusted the car to Cedar Classics in 2009 for recommissioning work that included an engine rebuild with a replacement block. Invoices on file show the total expenditure as £6,667.56 for the work that was completed in 2010 at which time the car was only used a few times, and eventually sold.

Having again been stored in a collection since 2016 the car came to our work shop for further re con work that has included a full service including adjustment of the tappets, timing adjustment and the carburettor over hauled. In addition the sump was removed, baffles cleaned and the unit replaced with new correct width gaskets.

The car’s interior had been re trimmed in the last few years however the hood frame was broken and the hood was in a poor sate, as such the frame has been repaired and repainted and a new hood fitted in canvas with a new matching hood bag and tonneau cover.

The Touring body remains in generally very good order, the integrity of the frame is strong and the aluminum skin is remarkably free of cracks as are the wings that are constructed of steel. The paint is showing signs of age but does not have any micro blistering. Overall this is a fine and presentable example of a pretty pre War Tourer, mechanically sound and in good running order.
