First registered 21st June 1967 this fine Elan was restored by a previous owner with many new parts from Lotus specialist Chris Neil. Purchased soon after by a well known collector and avid Lotus fan the car remained in his collection until being sold again by a dealer recently.
Unfortunately no record of this comprehensive restoration survives however the car remains in excellent condition and great running running order.
The DHC version of the Series 3 Elan ( Type 45 ) was launched in June of 1966, this example is the more desirable and rare ‘special equipment’ version with centre lock wheels and twin Webber carbs which gave the car a claimed 115 bhp from the 1558cc engine that also had a high lift cam and improved exhaust system.
Super stylish and great fun to drive this fabulous little car has 4 recored owners and is supplied with the current UK V5C logbook.
