  • DESCRIPTION

This fabulous Marcos was supplied in ‘kit form’ to Mr Franco Pizzalon Esq. of Leicester on 30th December 1968 having been ordered following his visit to the Marcos stand at the Earls Court Motor Show London earlier that year.

Delivered to Castle Service Station Mount Sorrel – whom we assume was responsible to the build – it was finished in Porsche orange with black trim and originally had a Ford 1600cc Cross Flow engine. At some time in the early 1970’s the engine was changed to the current Lotus Twin cam unit that was built to a high spec with a ported and polished Mk.II cylinder  head, steel main caps, competition bearings, re-ground crank and flywheel, high lift cams and Powermax pistons.

Purchased by the last owner in 2013 the car was comprehensively restored to its current condition in it’s original colours and fitted with Minilite wheels.

With just 3 former keepers it is supplied with a good history file that documents the engine spec along with the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts as well as a current MoT until November 2022. Showing 89,139 miles it has to be one of the finest examples currently on offer, the body work and interior are in truly exceptional condition and it is an absolute joy to drive – light weight with crisp handling, this is a true motoring connoisseur’s choice for those that dare to be a bit different.
