Sold new in May 1934 in the Manchester / Stockport area of the UK the early history of this J2 is not known, an original RF60 buff log book that is with the car shows it was still in the north of England in the 1950’s.
Aprox 2,500 J2’s were built between 1932 and 1934 this example built towards the end of production is fitted with the correct later style sweeping front wings and appears to be a very original unmolested example. The car was restored in the early 1990’s which included a new ash frame, further work also included a gearbox rebuild and a new clutch in 2002.
In generally good condition the car has a wonderful patina about it, the body remains sturdy and the paint work although aged has a nice look to it. Mechanically it drives well as the car has been well maintained over the years. Fitted with a complete set of all weather gear and a tonneau cover it comes with a good history file of bills and invoices showing parts and maintenance as well as a copy of the factory build sheet and correspondence from 1934.
This is a well presented J2 that has been with the previous owner for some 12 years in which time he has covered about 17,000 miles, it remains in fine condition overall and is supplied with a good history.
