c1981 Norton-Seeley 850cc Race Bike

  • SPECIFICATIONS
    • Year c1981
    • Chassis Number RMT MK3 32R
  • DESCRIPTION

This Seeley-Norton was campaigned very successfully between 1994 and 2002 by Simon Robson winning the North East Motorcycle Club’s 1000cc unlimited Classic Championship 8 times, the Melville Motorcycle Racing Club’s classic championship 5 times and the Scottish Classic Racing Motorcycle Club’s Championship 5 times in the same class.

It was purchased in 2016 by Dod Spence Racing and underwent a comprehensive rebuild. Fitted with an 850cc Norton Commando engine that has been rebuilt by ex J. Gow mechanic John Leech, it has modified Norton Roadholder front forks with twin AP Lockheed front calipers and an AP caliper on the rear and Koni shock absorbers. It was paraded in the Bob McIntyre meeting in June 2017 and has only covered some 30 miles. In excellent ready to go condition it is still eligible for more classic racing or parade laps with the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC) and should prove a rewarding and potent entry.
