This Mk1 ‘sprunghub’ Tiger has been part of a well known motorcycle collection since 1991. It was registered new 18th July 1952 and has had just 3 owners in total, it is a matching number bike that retains its original registration number and comes with an original buff logbook dating back to 1959.
This totally original and unmolested bike was recently resurrected from where it has laid for the last 26 years and brought back to life in our workshop. A decision was made not to restore it but to get it into running useable condition, as such the mag was rebuilt, new parts fitted where necessary and old parts cleaned and refurbished to preserve it as much as possible.
The engine is in remarkably good running order with no smoke and no rattles, it starts easily and runs with plenty of power, with all gears working. The bike rides well and has been fitted with new tires so could be used or tested as is.
This is unique purchase opportunity as there can not be many of these rare early 500cc Tigers left in this condition retaining so many original features. Further restoration or preservation work could be undertaken or it could simply be enjoyed as is, quite a find ! SOLD.
