This matching number ‘Duplex’ frame Trophy was exported new to Sweden in 1961 where curiously these bike were given the different model name of Tiger 110 Competition by the importer. Recently returned the the UK and re registered here the bike has received a full check over and a service in our work shop and is in good runner order. This bike is in very nice general condition however the engine barrel paint is coming off in a few small places. The body work is all in good order, the tank has no dents or scratches.
The Duplex frame bikes were only in production two years from 1960 to 1962 before the factory reverted to the original but strengthened single down tube frame in 1963. These early Trophy models became known as ‘Desert Sleds’ as they were popular with dirt track riders, the 61’ model became an icon after being used in the famous Great Escape movie jump.
