Registered 22nd Sept 1960 this genuine and matching number 650cc Trophy C has been recently comprehensively restored to a high standard, including a top end engine rebuild. Many new parts have been used and the bike comes with a build sheet for all the work completed, it remains in first class condition.
The Triumph Duplex frame was introduced in 1960 and was only made until 1963 when production returned to the single down tube type, as such examples are reasonably rare, this bike being built Sept. ’60 is in fact the ’61 model and also benefits from the strengthened head stock introduced for the 1961 model. The Trophy was the bike of choice for the ‘off road’ rider in the USA, from where this example came, and found may successes with pro competitors and amateurs a like, probably the most notable was the dirt racer and stunt man Bud Ekins who doubled for Steve McQueen in the 1963 movie ‘The Great Escape’, using a Triumph Trophy in famous jump scene.
