First registered here in the UK 29th July 1953, this is a fully matching numbers Series C Black Shadow. As factory records for all engine numbers above 9999 do not exist we have no historical data for this bike and little extra history. Close inspection has however revealed that this fine example has been the subject of much restoration work that has included sensible modifications to cope with moderns traffic and riding conditions ; the original carbs have been replaced with later Amal Mk2 concentric units, the bike now has 12v electronics with a power box ignition and a very useful electronic starter, the brakes have also been covered to massive Fontana type 12” and 10” hubs with the front brake being 4 leading shoe.
A real riders bike it is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition and is also fitted with a Smiths chronometric rev counter and Speedo with has a sticker on the top informing the rider not to exceed 104 Mph in 3rd gear !
Showing 21,000 miles and supplied with some correspondence from the Vincent Owners Club the bike also comes with a an original riders handbook and the Uk V5C logbook showing the bike retains its original Uk registration number of L0Y 486.
