Registered 12th Oct. 1951 this series C Black Shadow received a total engine and mechanical rebuild by Vincent Owners Club member and respected restorer Tony Hutchinson approximately 10 years ago. Since then it has been part of a large motorcycle collection and stored in a warm office / showroom. It has only covered about 200 miles since the work was completed. A fully matching number machine it remains in absolutely excellent condition, the UFN and RFN numbers are clearly marked as is the engine number and the cases have matching ‘TT72’ numbers as well.
Showing 22,800 miles it is supplied with an original buff logbook dating back to 1960, the current UK V5C logbook and details of the restoration work. The history file also contains a few old MoT’s dating back to 1996 when the milage was showing 22,298. These beautiful motorcycles are not just stunning to look at they were the fastest vehicle on two or four wheels in the day with speeds capable of over 120 mph. Fortunately they had reasonable stopping power as well with twin 7” drum brakes at the front, this bike has been upgraded to 8” drums, the originals also come with it.
This is really fine and original example, in superb running order.
