Dispatched from the works to Vincent dealers Kings Motors Ltd, Oxford 28th Nov. 1951 this series C Rapide was then sold and registered on 1st Dec. Having been with the previous owner for 33 years this fine matching number example has received much maintenance and restoration work over the years. There is a large history file with the bike that contains many invoices and receipts from Vincent specialists Conway Motors and Furness & Steel. In 1997 the bike was fitted with a Vee Two dry clutch at which time the milage was showing as 4,760 the current milage is 8,500. The bike is also fitted with 12 volt electrics, a BT-H magneto and upgraded Black Shadow brake drums. Although it has had little use in recent years it has been stored in a dry garage and remains in very good overall condition, mechanically in good order as well as it has always been periodically started, it had a complete top end rebuild in 2010 with new valves, guides and springs, the cylinders were also re-bored and new pistons fitted.
It is supplied with an original buff log book dated back to 1962 as well as the current V5C logbook, a copy of the Works Order Form, Road Test Report and Despatch Check Sheet as well as a number of old MoT’s. This is really nice example in general very good condition that has also just had a full check over, service and tune up by Conway motors.
