This genuine series ‘A’ Comet was dispatched from the Stevenage factory 19th May 1938 to Vincent dealers King’s Motors, Oxford. Registered 21st May ’38 the bike has remained in the same family since 1959, having been owned by two brothers and latterly a daughter who had and rode the bike since her teens !
A fully matching number example, retaining it’s original registration number it has been well maintained. Having just had a check over and service it remains in good working order and very original condition. It is supplied with a history file that has an original buff logbook from Nov. 1956 and many old bills and invoices for work including what appears to be a top end engine rebuild in the early 1960’s by Harper Engines Ltd, the company who took over the name and motorcycle component manufacturing rights when Vincent Motorcycles went into receivership in 1959. In addition it had further engine and restoration work in 1995 at that time an old MoT states the milage as 96,582 !
Also supplied are a copy of the works record card and a VOC dating certificate. This a remarkable survivor and a much cherished example. A true collector motorcycle.
