This Brough 11.50 was dispatched from the works 20th June 1935 and was originally supplied as a combination, fitted to a Watsonian sidecar and registered to Nottingham City Police. The JAP powered 1100cc side valve engine model was often used to pull a ‘chair’ as the motor had plenty of torque and it was not uncommon for 11.50’s to be supplied to English Police forces. The early history of the bike is not known however it was acquired by a long time member of the Brough club in 1982. We gather at this time the bike was in good running order but in original condition. It was subsequently sold to friend who exported the bike the USA where it lived until 2006 before being repurchased and returned to the UK. By this time it required a rebuild which was undertaken by the owner who had his own engineering business. This restoration was completed in 2008 and the bike has been well maintained ever since.
A matching number bike it is very good order both mechanically and cosmetically. It is supplied with a small history file containing a copy of the factory record card, a buff logbook from 1971, the current UK V5C and various correspondence.
