It is estimated that just over 20,000 R60 / R60/2 models were built between 1956 and 1969. With 28 / 30hp on tap the bikes were good for a 90 mph top speed, their solid build quality, tough ‘Earles’ front forks, shaft drive and virtually indestructible 600cc engine made them an instant hit especially with military and police forces across the globe.
In modern times they have become a style icon and a highly collectable classic bike – sublime to ride and beautiful to look at.
This matching number R60 is among the last to be built in 1960 before the R60/2 was introduced. Registered in the UK 16th June it has had 6 former keepers the last for 12 years where it has been part of a prominent classic bike collection.
It remains in excellent condition throughout, a very fine and original example it is great running condition and is suppled with a service and repair manual.
