Introduced in 1977 the 900SD ‘Sport Desmo’ or Darmah as it was also known was available along side the 860GT although as it featured Desmodronic values and not the standard spring values of the 860 it was more powerful. The frame design was very similar but the SD overshadowed the 860 model as constant improvements to the engine and suspension made it the dominant sports tourer in the Ducati range as it had more in common with the now sort after 900SS.
This example from 1978 features Ceriani front forks and Koni rear shocks and is generally good condition, the electric starter works well and the engine runs great with no smoking.
The bike has a small history file with old MoTs that go back to 1992 when the milage was 3439 the current milage is 10854. A generally presentable example and a good ridding bike these Desmo Darmah’s are good value compared to the 900SS at aprox half the value but still give the sound and feel of a thoroughbred classic Ducati.
