The Ducati 916 was launched at the Milan Motorcycle Show in 1993 and went into production in 1994, it was an instant success. The Massimo Tamburini design has had such an influence on modern motorcycles that it is still being emulated today, it was without doubt stunning from every angle. The bike also set new standards of performance for a V twin engined motorcycle giving Ducati a World Superbike Championship in its debut year and remaining virtually unbeatable until Carl Fogarty retired in 2000.
The Senna edition was launched in 1995 as a tribute to the late F1 World Champion Ayrton Senna who died in 1994 and was a great Ducati enthusiast. Three series of the model were produced each sanctioned by the Senna Foundation with 300 bikes of each series being built.
This Senna II is number 026. Purchased in the UK by its only recorded owner in 1997 it remained unregistered and in a collection until 2022. During that time the bike was maintained to the highest standard, it remains today in virtually showroom condition and showing only 3,477 miles.
It is supplied with the factory handbooks, Ducati Club dating cert, history file, MoT until Nov. 2023 and UK V5C registration document. This is a must for any Ducati collector.
