The final version of the 916 SP, the SP3 was introduced in 1996. Like the versions before it featured twin fuel injectors, titanium con-rods and bigger valves for increased power and torque, but had revised crankcases as well as Öhlins rear suspension.
Just 497 examples were produced and according the to the UK DVLA this is one of only three bikes currently registered. This particular example, No.178 has had an extensive recent engine rebuild having covered some 28,700 Kms. This work was completed by the renowned and acclaimed Ducati specialist Richard Llewelyn of Louigi Moto in Bristol who has also authenticated this bike. In addition the bike has been repainted and refurbished where necessary. Prior to this the bike has been very well maintained with a full service history as shown in the factory service book and the maintenance invoices in the history file along with some old MoT’s and some photos of the rebuild.
In really excellent condition the bike is fitted with a set of carbon Termigoni cans and is supplied with the UK V5C, two keys and a new MoT. A superb opportunity to acquire a rare example of Ducati’s legendary 916 that is in great working order.
