This 750 Commando Interstate was restored in 2006 by specialist Tony Smith before being sold to a large private collection where it has remained since. The bike has continued to be well maintained but has seen little use.
Unfortunately during the restoration process the identity plate on the bike was lost and so registration had to be done with a Norton dating certificate, as such the bike bears a DVLA ( SABTVR ) frame number rather than the Norton factory number, however the bike is stated as manufactured 1972 and has an age related registration number ( EKP535K ).
Recently re commissioned for road use the bike remains in fine condition and good running order, the larger ( steel ) 5¼ gallon fuel tank has a slight dent in the left hand side but the paint is very good. Please note that although this is a ’72 model the engine number signifies a pre ‘Combat’ engine, in addition the motor was rebuilt with new bearings and electric 12v ignition, and the front brake has been upgraded with a Grimeca calliper. Supplied with a small history file, UK V5C the bike is ready to go.
