Registered new on May 1st 1973 in the USA this matching number 911 spent most of its life in California. The original owner sold the car in 1976 to a Mr Chandler of Santa Monica, an extensive history file that accompanies the car shows he maintained the car well with many bills and invoices for service work from the beginning of his ownership through to 1990 where the mileage was at 79,630. At this time we believe the 911 was laid up until imported into the UK in 2002 with a mileage of 79,788.
Since being Imported it has stayed in single family ownership up until now. It was subject to restoration work carried out by Formulae Fuchs including a bare metal respray in 2002 and has been more recently serviced and maintained at Jaz Porsche, St Albans. The most recent work which included recommissioning and a major service was carried out on the 24th October 2018 at a cost of £4,310.
In good condition throughout this Targa is presented in its original specification. The engine runs well and the body is straight, however the paintwork does have a few small marks and some signs of age, the interior remains in generally nice but older condition.
The car was inspected for an insurance valuation in 2005 by AutoFarm who stated that it remained an extremely sound and original rust free example as it had been continued to be very well maintained here in the UK. These later 2.4 T 911’s that were destined for the US market had a fuel injected engine and so are relatively rare here in the UK. This fine example showing 90,859 miles on the odometer is a well present car with only 3 owners form new and a large history file showing much maintenance, it is also supplied with a Porsche Factory Certificate of Authenticity, Porsche leather booklet with maintenance and service books and a current MoT until Sept 2019.
