Registered 12th April 1972 this series one Silver Shadow has only had a four owners from new with a total recored 24,750 miles. Delivered new to RM Johnstone & Son Ltd, Witney Oxfordshire the car was originally red in colour but was professionally repainted in 1982 to Peacock Blue by Rolls Royce agents and coachbuilders Hooper and Co in London. At this time it had passed to its second owner and had covered 3,041 miles according to an MoT dated March 1983. Nineteen subsequent MoTs are on file until 2005 when we believe the car was laid up at 14,069 miles. It then changed hands to the third owner in 2010, there are several receipts from Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists totaling £5,000 for work done on the car at this time. The mileage is recorded in 2012 as being 22,375 before it was acquired by the forth and last owner in 2013 at 24,581 miles.
In superb overall condition the body work remains excellent with just a few very minor stone chips, the interior is equally good, the original carpets still in good condition the magnolia colour leather also in very fine order. Mechanically the car drives beautifully with everything working as it should. There is no doubt that in its time the Shadow one was the finest luxury car in the World, this is an absolute ‘time-warp’ example, an opportunity to experience this amazing level of refined driving from a remarkable example. The car is supplied with the original owners handbooks, old logbooks, history file and old MoT’s and current V5C logbook, a new MoT will be supplied.
