  • DESCRIPTION

The new ‘Duplex’ frame TR6 was introduced in 1959 but the redesign of the original single down tube frame proved to be weak and so many of the bikes were returned to the factory to be modified with a crossbar which then found its way into the production. However by 1962 the factory retuned to a modified single down tube frame.

This did not deter riders from entering the ‘off road’ Trophy in to many competitions where it gained many victories, however it really came to fame with riders in the USA where it was known as the ‘Desert Sled’ as it was the bike of choice for many off road and desert races.

The ever emerging export market particularly the USA is where many of these bikes   were destined, this example was sent new to the USA in 1960 came back to the UK and was re registered in 2017. Having already had an engine refresh the bike has just undergone a full service and been fitted with a new battery. A matching number example it is very good overall condition and is supplied with a UK V5C logbook and a workshop manual.
