Despatched in October 1959 to Pinks of Harrow and registered the 8th December 1959 the first owner kept the bike a few years until 1962 when it was purchased by only its second owner from George Clarke’s in London. Keeping the bike a phenomenal 59 years it was toured all over Europe visiting Italy, Yugoslavia and Greece in 1965 and France, Spain and Portugal in 1969 and was also used as daily transport to work. By the time the owner retired in 1995 the bike had racked up some 123,000 miles at which point it was entrusted to Ace Classics in London for a full restoration.

Following its completion, the refurbished Trophy won the ‘Best Classic Bike’ award at the prestigious Bromley Pageant of Classic Motoring and continued to be taken to shows and ridden to events.

The bikes fascinating ownership story was recounted in a four-page article in the July 1999 edition of The Classic Motor Cycle magazine (copy on file ) in which it was revealed that this was the first Duplex Trophy to bear the ‘D’ Suffix.

Retaining its original registration number ‘754 XME’ it comes with a comprehensive history file that show’s that it is a fully matching number example, with letters, TOMCC certificates and old logbooks plus maintenance bills and the restoration invoices from Ace Classics.

Remaining in first class condition this is a truly great example, with just 2 owners from new and an immaculate history, a must for any avid Triumph collator.
